What is Zelora?
Zelora is a personal AI assistant built and run by Doug Larson.
It runs on OpenAI models and Google Cloud (Cloud Run, Firestore, Google Calendar, and Twilio).
This is a preview version and things will change frequently.
What Zelora can do today
Core abilities
- Chat in text — ask questions, get explanations, summaries, and help planning.
- Chat by voice — in supported browsers, click the microphone to talk instead of typing.
- Personal memory (per user) — if you tell Zelora things like
your name or other test info, it will (hopefully) remember those facts for future replies,
tied to your saved email address.
Calendar
- Google Calendar integration exists in Doug's environment. Zelora can create
and read events on his calendar, and the feature is being generalized for testers.
- Once that happens, always double-check your Google Calendar directly for important events.
Phone calls
- Phone call support is wired using Twilio in Doug’s local environment.
- This feature is not yet exposed to general users from
zelora.io and is under active development.
Limitations
- Memory is tied to your browser identity and saved user ID. If you clear storage, switch
browsers, or change user, Zelora may not see older facts yet.
- Calendar and phone features are still evolving. Don’t rely on them for critical coordination
without checking directly.
- Zelora can be wrong or forgetful. Treat it as a helpful assistant, not as an authority on critical topics.
- No medical, legal, or investment advice.
Data & privacy
Your conversations and facts are stored in Google Firestore under your user ID and may be used to
give you continuity across sessions and to improve Zelora’s behavior. Data is not sold or shared
with third parties beyond OpenAI (for model inference) and Google (for infrastructure).
If you want your data removed or have questions about how it’s used, contact Doug directly.
